The team at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital’s neurology unit recently recognized Three Rivers nursing student Sawyer Kury for his outstanding performance during his preceptorship. According to his preceptor and the team, Sawyer has demonstrated exceptional clinical skills, professionalism and teamwork throughout his rotation. His calm leadership during an emergency response was especially appreciated, when a patient began choking, Sawyer quickly intervened and likely saved the patient’s life. This was a brave response and not typically seen in a novice RN in an emergent situation, never mind a student nurse.
