Congratulations to Angelo Glaviano, a Sicilian native and Professor of Languages and Cultures at CT State Middlesex. His documentary, "The Italian Heritage Project," will premiere on November 13. The film features the stories of local Sicilian immigrants and their families, carries a universal message of hard work and perseverance against discrimination that is especially relevant today. For more than five years, Glaviano, conducted interviews with Middletown residents who moved to America from Melilli, Sicily, as a way to celebrate achievements in their adopted country. Collaborating with Daniel Nocera, coordinator of the Center for New Media Productions, Glaviano collected the memories of people who had the singular goal of finding success in this country.
