Professor Amanda Sweeney, a part of the CT State Gateway Automotive department,
has been awarded the GM ASEP Academic Instructor of Merit Award at the GM
national conference in Detroit.
During the CT State merger, Professor Sweeney recognized that the removal of Math 115 created a barrier to graduation for automotive students and spent three years developing a new, industry-aligned math course. She used her sabbatical to study GM ASEP labs and designed a hybrid format to expand access across campuses.
