CT State Campuses Host FAFSA Sessions
Connecticut State Community College (CT State) campuses statewide will host FAFSA sessions on select dates from Dec. 16-Feb. 13 to support individuals in completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Prospective and current students, along with their parents or other family, are invited to attend sessions at CT State campuses Gateway (New Haven), Housatonic (Bridgeport), Manchester, Naugatuck Valley (Waterbury), Northwestern (Winsted), Norwalk, Three Rivers (Norwich), and Tunxis (Farmington).
Staff from Financial Aid Services offices will be available to assist with FAFSA-related questions and renewals. Check with local campuses for exact dates and times. A link to these events is also available on the CT State website calendar.
Connecticut’s deadline for priority consideration is February 15, although individuals should submit the form as soon as possible for the best chances at institutional aid. Prospective students should contact their financial aid office at the college or university they plan to attend.
Free tuition is available at CT State Community College to Connecticut residents who are high school graduates, whether from the state or elsewhere, and are attending college for the first time. Anyone who first attended college in fall 2020 or later may be eligible, as well. Accessing the free tuition program and any financial aid starts with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. The free tuition program is not income-based. All students who plan on attending full- or part-time should complete the FAFSA so they can access the program, even if they do not think they will quality for need-based aid. Program funding is available on a rolling basis; applicants can see if they qualify at www.ctstate.edu/free-tuition.
Prospective college students still have time to apply and receive free tuition for spring 2026 semester at any of CT State’s campuses statewide, and can enroll full- or part-time.
The first steps are to apply to CT State Community College at ctstate.edu/apply and complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA at FAFSA.gov, selecting CT State’s 007635 federal school code. A FAFSA form is required regardless of family income for those who may be eligible. Free tuition is an option even if no other financial aid is awarded, as long as funds remain available. To see eligibility requirements, visit ctstate.edu/free-tuition.
CT State offers more than 300 associate degrees and certificates that may be eligible for federal financial aid. Spring credit classes begin January 23.
