Celebrating Compassion and Leadership in Nursing

Capital student Natasha Marrero received the Peer Recognition Award at the Connecticut Center for Nursing Workforce’s 2025 Student Day. Marrero was honored for her professionalism and compassion during clinicals, where her attentiveness and swift action during a patient emergency helped save a life. As part of the recognition, Marrero also nominated Capital Professor Jaykumar Patel for a Faculty Mentor Award, highlighting his dedication, guidance and support of nursing students.
