Beneath the Canopy, oil on 36-inch circular panel, Karen Bartone
Three Rivers art lecturer Karen Bartone has been selected to participate in Patchwork: Connecticut Artists Consider 250 at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme.
Bartone's painting Beneath the Canopy was selected for the exhibition's Power of Place theme, which explores connections between landscape, community and identity. The painting reflects Bartone's long engagement with the landscape around her studio in Clinton and is part of an ongoing body of work rooted in direct observation of the New England landscape.
