Three CT State Northwestern students, Vanessa Szabo, Maria Morales, and Valeria Cardenas, presented research at the SEAPHAGES Symposium on isolating two new bacteriophages from local soil, which will be analyzed at the University of Pittsburgh for potential use in combating antibiotic resistance. The project was part of Renee Dunbar’s General Biology lab, where students gained hands-on experience in microbiological research throughout the semester.
