Congratulations to Dr. Joseph D. Shih, science faculty at Housatonic, whose research has been published in mSphere, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Society for Microbiology. The study examines how microbial competition affects the performance and durability of engineered genetic devices, an issue with real-world implications for biotechnology and environmental applications such as bioremediation. Supported by a National Science Foundation grant, the multi-year project actively involved undergraduate students and highlights CT State's research capabilities and student-faculty collaboration.
